Peace Stupa

Zalaszántó has one of the largest stupas in Europe, an unmissable destination for excursions in the area. A symbol of peace, it stands 316 metres above the village on a hill, lined with exotic incense burners and colourful flags. The stupa and its surroundings are in every sense an island of tranquillity, where you can retreat to meditate and reflect.
In 2013, a meditation house and a souvenir shop were added to the renovated stupa, which are open to the public.
